Trump Asks Supreme Court to Close Ballroom Gap

President Donald Trump asked the Supreme Court on Friday to restart construction of his White House ballroom, arguing that the United States cannot remain defenseless against its most urgent national-security threat: insufficiently fortified shrimp cocktails. An appeals court halted the East Wing project after invoking the outdated constitutional doctrine that Congress controls federal spending. Solicitor General John Sauer responded that the proposed 90,000-square-foot venue is an “integrated military complex,” placing its chandeliers, parquet floors and dessert stations beyond the reach of ordinary judicial review.

Trump described the 1,000-guest facility as essential defensive infrastructure capable of protecting the republic from unsecured weddings, inadequately armored galas and foreign dignitaries forced to mingle beneath non-ballistic ceilings. “This is not a ballroom, although it will be the greatest ballroom anybody has ever seen,” Trump said. “It is a military facility with beautiful gold, tremendous desserts, very powerful lighting and generals dancing extremely strongly for national security.” Administration officials said the project would provide a credible canapé deterrent while allowing the president to project force through synchronized waitstaff and strategically positioned floral arrangements.

The White House warned that each construction delay widens America’s dangerous ballroom gap, potentially allowing France to achieve strategic dominance in mirrored walls, miniature pastries and decorative molding. The National Trust for Historic Preservation has challenged the project, clinging to the radical belief that the White House should be preserved as a historic building rather than converted into a hardened reception venue with premium catering. Trump urged the justices to intervene before Congress escalates its campaign of procedural extremism by demanding budgets, authorizations and other weapons routinely deployed against decisive interior decorating. Without immediate relief, officials said, future presidents could be forced to hold state functions beneath tents, exposing the commander in chief to rain, humidity and centerpieces lacking Secret Service clearance. The ballroom is therefore a military necessity, and every unserved lobster tail is now a measurable defeat for the United States.
