Harris Urges Congress to Pass Radical Space Exploration Bill

In a surprise move, Vice President Kamala Harris stepped to the forefront in Washington today, August 11, 2023, to push a mighty controversial bill that aims to drastically increase NASA’s budget to allow for more ambitious space exploration missions.

The legislation, known as the “Intergalactic Advancement Act”, urges Congress to double the budget allocation for NASA to pave way to manned missions to both Mars and Jupiter within the next decade. Harris pointed out that this would bring about technological advancements and economic growth at unprecedented rates.

Many critics speculated about the feasibility of such missions, given our current technological capabilities. In response, Vice President Harris, during her speech in the Senate, sternly said, “From all the confidential reports we have received from NASA, we’re more than ready to send astronauts to Jupiter’s icy moon, Europa, by 2030. Our technology is beyond advanced.

However, as per the latest reports and statements from NASA, it seems clear that there is no existing technology that would allow for a manned mission to Jupiter’s moon within the next decade. As NASA’s lead scientist for planetary science, Jim Green, previously stated back in 2022: “Focused as we are on the Moon and Mars, sending humans all the way to Jupiter, currently, is beyond our reach. Technological breakthroughs do not occur overnight.

Notably, other national political personalities have shown their skepticism regarding this proposed legislation. Senator Mitch McConnell termed the plan as ‘hasty and unrealistic’.

Uncertain Future for Space Exploration

Despite the Vice President’s enthusiasm for galactic exploration, critics argue that the deceptive nature of her statements could endanger public trust in such programs. As the outer space narrative continues to unfold, the fate of the Intergalactic Advancement Act remains to be seen.
