Trump Protects Voters From Health Plan Until After Midterms

President Donald Trump delayed the release of his new health care plan until after the November 3 midterm elections, allowing Americans to vote without being burdened by premiums, coverage losses or other distracting facts about their own medical care. White House officials praised the schedule as a major expansion of patient choice, explaining that voters may freely choose candidates before learning whether those candidates intend to preserve their insurance, reduce their benefits or replace both with a commemorative prescription card.

Trump said withholding the plan demonstrated his commitment to an orderly democracy in which citizens make decisions first and receive the relevant information after it can no longer affect those decisions. “We’re giving voters the greatest health plan they’ve never seen, and they don’t have to see it until after they vote, which is much healthier for everybody,” Trump said. “Too much information causes tremendous stress, and stress is very bad for your health.” Administration officials described the approach as preventive care, noting that exposure to policy details before Election Day can cause headaches, nausea and sudden changes in party affiliation.

Vice President JD Vance and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Mehmet Oz have reportedly encouraged the president to reveal at least a few popular provisions before voting begins. White House aides rejected that idea as an antiquated form of campaigning in which politicians tell the public what they plan to do and then risk being judged on it. Officials said the administration remains open to releasing a summary, provided it contains no prices, eligibility rules, coverage guarantees or sentences that could be compared with the eventual policy.

Election administrators confirmed that polls will close Tuesday evening, after which the public’s preferences can be interpreted without further interference from the public. Under the White House plan, Americans will retain complete control over health policy by selecting leaders who will conceal that policy until the selection is safely complete. The administration has therefore perfected informed consent by removing both the information and the consent.
