Trump Administration Launches Platinum Democracy

The Trump administration unveiled a streamlined federal ethics program Thursday after a report alleged that U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle asked Republican donor Eric Deters to send $100,000 directly to her American Express account while he was seeking access to administration officials. White House officials praised the arrangement as “government without the government,” a reform that removes lobbyist registrations, disclosure forms and the lingering danger that an ordinary citizen might influence public policy without first presenting a valid method of payment.

Messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal reportedly indicated that Guilfoyle suggested a direct payment to American Express would not appear in public records. Deters declined, demonstrating that the program includes both consumer protections and a voluntary spending cap for donors concerned about destroying their marriages. Guilfoyle has called the accusation false, reaffirming the longstanding American principle that wealthy donors may request favors and public officials may request money entirely by coincidence, including during the same conversation. “Kimberly has built the cleanest ethics system in history, because when money goes straight to the credit card, Washington never has to touch it,” President Donald Trump said. “There is no corruption, there is no paperwork, and there are probably tremendous points. Democrats never figured out the points.”

Secretary of State Marco Rubio declined to discuss the allegation, displaying the administration’s commitment to transparency by making its silence fully available to the public. Officials said the Guilfoyle model will serve as the foundation for “Platinum Democracy,” a tiered civic-participation system offering $25,000 Silver Access, $100,000 Executive Influence and an invitation-only Black Card level. Benefits include expedited regulatory relief, a Tucker Carlson appearance, preferred seating near executive orders and complimentary valet parking at the republic’s remaining institutions. The administration confirmed that federal ethics have now been simplified into a rewards program.
