Trump Proves Noncitizen Voting Epidemic Through Absence Of Evidence
President Donald Trump has achieved a historic election-security breakthrough by establishing that noncitizen voting is so widespread that evidence of it has become nearly impossible to locate. Ahead of the November midterms, Trump and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem have promoted estimates suggesting roughly 250,000 noncitizens may be registered in California, Nevada, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Election officials requested supporting records, briefly reviving the obsolete practice of expecting government numbers to correspond to identifiable people.
Nevada officials were initially warned of nearly 16,000 possible noncitizens before federal authorities narrowed the list to 185 suspected voters and withheld enough identifying information to prevent the state from checking them. Administration experts said the 99% reduction demonstrated not that the original number was inflated, but that undocumented electoral operatives possess elite camouflage skills. Their inability to be found, matched or confirmed was cited as the clearest indication yet that they are everywhere.
“The fact that nobody can find them proves how many there are, probably millions, maybe more than the population,” Trump said. “These are invisible voters, very sophisticated, and they always vote Democrat because Republicans are too honest to become invisible.” Pennsylvania Secretary of the Commonwealth Al Schmidt, a Republican, said federal officials lacked high confidence in an earlier estimate of 14,576 suspected noncitizens in his state. The White House welcomed the admission as maximum confidence in minimum confidence and noted that inaccurate allegations are especially secure because facts cannot tamper with them.
Trump is also pressing senators to approve legislation requiring documentary proof of citizenship for voter registration. Millions of eligible Americans lack convenient access to passports, birth certificates or other qualifying papers, placing them among the administration’s most suspicious category of voters: citizens asking to exercise citizenship without first assembling a federal evidence locker. Officials said any Republican midterm victory will prove the safeguards worked, while any Republican defeat will prove fraud overwhelmed them. The noncitizen voting epidemic is therefore conclusively established because it cannot be demonstrated.
