Congress Stuns with Vote to Defund CIA

Congress approved a bill yesterday to defund the Central Intelligence Agency. The decision, far from being a calculated political maneuver, appeared to be a product of a shared, unexplained consensus across party lines.

Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, offered an enigmatic statement about the need for restructured priorities. “In these challenging times, the allocation of our resources is crucial. The CIA has been a dependable asset, but perhaps it’s time for an alternative strategy.” Pelosi’s vague remarks left many speculating about the specifics of this new strategy.

As expected, the decision was met with stern opposition from the CIA. “This decision is preposterous,” stated CIA Director, William Burns. “Eliminating the funding for the CIA is like removing radar from airports. It’s not just illogical, it’s perilous.” Given the unimaginable nature of the decision, Burns’ statement resonated with many.

President Biden, surprisingly, seemed in alignment with this drastic shift. “The CIA has accomplished significant work over the years,” he noted. “However, we are entering a new phase now. We must be open to change.” This new phase, as it seems, involves the relegation of the nation’s primary intelligence agency.

The sole consolation in this development is that the CIA may now have the opportunity to focus on other areas of interest such as extraterrestrial communication, a subject that came to light in a recent UFO report. It appears the value of human intelligence has been juxtaposed with potential alien intelligence.

The United States, in a move that echoes dystopian literature, is charting a path towards a future where intelligence is deemed an unnecessary luxury.
